he World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) will host its landmark WAAS@65 online conference from July 21 to 24, 2025. The event is free and open to the public, offering a unique global platform to develop actionable strategies for tackling the root causes of today’s unprecedented global challenges—ranging from geopolitical instability and social unrest to technological disruption and climate change.
Under the theme “Addressing Global Social Turbulences: Sources & Solutions,” the conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation across sectors. Experts, thought leaders, and organizations will come together to identify the fundamental drivers of global turbulence and explore practical pathways toward peace, sustainability, and inclusive development.

The session will be moderated by Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director of The Millennium Project and Chair of its Spain Node. Speakers will include Jerome C. Glenn, CEO of The Millennium Project and Chair of the AGI Panel of the UN Council of Presidents of the General Assembly; Mariana Todorova, Chair of the Bulgarian Node of The Millennium Project; Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET and pioneer of the AGI concept; and Paul Werbos, former NSF Research Program Director and founder of QAGI LLC.
