The WAAS@64 Conference is organized online by the World Academy of Art and Sciences (WAAS) on May 15 & 16 and June 26 & 27. A principle objective of WAAS@64 is to provide opportunities for WAAS and its members to identify and explore high-priority areas for future WAAS programming and to discuss organizational enhancements designed to support the continued expansion of the Academy’s program of work.
The conference will include 22 panel discussions in two parallel streams addressing challenges and opportunities related to peace, human security, and various aspects of sustainable development. These discussions will explore the factors and forces eroding global peace and human security, emerging opportunities and challenges, recommendations for the UN Summit of the Future, priorities for researchers and policy-makers, strategies for achieving the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the process of global social evolution.
Many from The Millennium Project will be speaking at the event. On May 15, 2024, Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director and Spain Node Chair of The Millennium Project, will be joining the panelist on “AI & Disinformation: Threats and Remedies“.
