- Charles Perrottet, Tribute
Charles Perrottet, Member of the Millennium Project Board of Directors from the beginning, died this morning around 7:30 am. He was a very decent man and I will miss him. When at the MPPC Meeting in Monterrey, Mexico a few months ago he did tell me that he was sick, but asked me not to mention that to others of MP.
Charles was with Ted Gordon in the Futures Group and then later a founding principal of the Futures Strategy Group.
Charles Thomas, who also worked with Ted in the Futures Group and with Charles in the Strategy Group let me know by email that… “Fortunately, both his children had been visiting recently and his daughter is still there. She was with Peggy when he passed. Peggy asked me to let you know… Plans for a memorial service center around a Celebration of his life this summer at the beach. If I learn more pertinent information, I will let you know.”

Attached is one of the last photos with the charming smile of Charles. The picture is from September, in Monterey, Mexico, his last meeting with the group he loved and supported so much! He was a member of the Board of Directors for many years.
Charles was an excellent futurist, for the past decades working mostly on geopolitical strategy and security issues; but above all, he was a real LORD, a great thinker, a walking encyclopedia, and a person of impeccable ethics.
He was very funny, cheerful, and always optimistic. Even in September, in Mexico, knowing that we would see each other for the very last time, he was the one who consoled me, saying that we should be grateful for the privilege of knowing each other and collaborating for so many years, and to look with gratitude at what we had achieved.
He appreciated The Millennium Project so much, that he sent his son Michael (now a man with high responsibility in the Army) to be an intern with us; and not surprisingly, Michael was one of the best interns I ever had the opportunity to work with.
Charles left content; he was happy with the life he had, with his achievements, and his wonderful family. I am confident that he will be as respected and loved in his new universe as he has been in this world. But here, Charles will be highly missed.
Extremely saddened,
