The World Futures Studies Federation has just released the June 2025 issue of Human Futures Magazine — and it features multiple insightful contributions from members of the Millennium Project network.
The landmark report State of the Future 20.0, authored by Jerome C. Glenn, Theodore Gordon, Elizabeth Florescu, and the Millennium Project Team, is reviewed in this issue. This latest edition continues the project’s legacy of synthesizing global trends, challenges, and opportunities for the future of humanity.
Jerome C. Glenn offers a compelling call to rethink traditional geopolitical paradigms. He contrasts the prevailing zero-sum logic with the transformative potential of synergetic strategies, such as joint governance of emerging AI and AGI technologies.
Mara Di Berardo, Communications Director and Co-Chair of the Italy Node of the Millennium Project, shares insights and reflections from this year’s World Futures Day. Her article captures key reflections from the annual 24-hour global conversation, highlighting the diversity of perspectives and shared hopes across time zones.
In a deep dive on the future of work, Sirkka Heinonen—Co-Chair of the Helsinki Node and recently elected to the Millennium Project Board—presents outcomes from the “T-winning Spaces 2035” project. This piece summarizes expert interviews with six Millennium Project members across three continents, addressing the evolving nature of work, skills for the green and digital transitions, and the hybridization of workspaces.
We invite the futures community to explore the full issue of the magazine for a diverse range of global foresight perspectives.
