The UK Node of the Millennium Project and Fast Future invite you to join an in person event on “The Future of the Future – Three Deep Dives With Jerome Glenn and Rohit Talwar” in London with three separately bookable sessions on different aspects of what could lie ahead.
The organizers are scheduling this event at short notice to take advantage of a flying visit to the UK from Jerome (Jerry) Glenn – the Founder and Executive Director of the Millennium Project (MP), widely recognised both as a pioneer of modern day futures thinking and as one most prominent thought leaders in the field today. The session will be jointly facilitated by Rohit Talwar of Fast Future – Co-chair of the MP’s UK Node, who was recently ranked as one of the Top 3 Global Futurists for 2025.
Each session is outlined below. The venue is kindly being hosted by the International Centre for Sustainability in their beautiful city of London venue. Places for each session are strictly limited, so early booking is recommended.
- 10.00-12.00 – State of the Future 20.0 (£10.00 + £1 Transaction fee)
This session will present and discuss key issues and opportunities for the future of humanity presented in the recently released State of the Future 20.0, the 500-page magnum opus by The Millennium Project that provides a broad, detailed, and readable look at the issues and opportunities that could lie ahead, and what we should know today to avoid the worst and achieve the best for the future of civilization.
- 14.00-16.00 – The Future of AI: Issues, Opportunities, and Geopolitical Synergies (£10.00 + £1 Transaction fee)
As Chair of the High-Level AGI Expert Panel of the UN Council of the President of the General Assembly, Jerry will share the latest MP thinking on artificial narrow intelligence (ANI) and AGI and its recommendations for the UN, the current status on global governance strategies, and pending issues. This deep dive discussion will then explore the extraordinary opportunities and catastrophic threats presented by AGI in particular, and how to address them nationally and internationally.
- 17.00-19.00 – The Future – Where Next? Discussion of 15 Global Challenges and related futures concepts and methods. (£10.00 + £1 Transaction fee)
The session will start with a brief overview of the MPs work on the current global situation, future prospects, and rapidly evolving challenges. Together, the speakers will discuss a broad range of futures concepts (such as current political threats and synergic geo-politics for US-China), and futures research methods (such as how scenarios are misused and how to know if the future is getting better or worse on a global basis).
For information and registrations, visit the event website.
The organizers will also be holding more informal and reasonably priced dinners with Jerry on Friday June 13th at 7.30pm in Golders Green and on Saturday June 14th at 7.30pm somewhere near the event venue. Please email rohit@fastfuture.com if you’d like to attend one or both of these.
