The second edition of the Italian Summer School in Futures Studies, focusing on quantitative methods for social foresight, is organized by the Italian Institute for the Future and the Italy Node of The Millennium Project on July 24-28, 2023 in Sasso Marconi (Bologna).
The Summer School in Futures Studies aims at providing the participants of the theoretical and practical knowledge needed in their professional context in order to apply advanced foresight quantitative tools and methods. At the end of the training, participants will possess theories, tools, methodological and operational skills for applying methods for opinion convergence like the Delphi, scenario building, and the use of machine learning techniques in futures studies.
Among the teachers of the school, Mara Di Berardo, Co-Chair of the Italy Node, will introduce futures studies (history, background, and approaches), Delphi-like methods, and Scenario Planning Techniques, and co-run the Delphi lab; Simone Di Zio, co-chair of the Italy Node, and Mario Bolzan, Italy Node member, will illustrate and manage a lab on Delphi-based Scenarios, and Mario Bolzan will introduce Uncertainty and Performance Indicators.
