Sri Lanka Node of The Millennium Project Relaunched with a Renewed Vision for the Future

Colombo, Sri Lanka – May 2025 – After a period of social and economic upheaval, the Sri Lanka Node of The Millennium Project has been relaunched, marking a significant step toward strengthening Sri Lanka’s role in global futures research. This initiative aims to foster long-term policy planning and strategic thinking to address emerging challenges and build a more resilient future for the country.
In conjunction with this relaunch, Asanga Abeyagoonasekera, Chair of the South Asia Foresight Network (SAFN), has been appointed to the Board of The Millennium Project in Washington, D.C., becoming the first Sri Lankan to hold this influential position. According to the official announcement, his appointment represents a significant milestone for South Asia’s engagement in global futures research and strategic foresight.
