The South Asia Foresight Network (SAFN), a regional initiative within The Millennium Project, has launched a new digital platform aimed at strengthening foresight collaboration across South Asia and ASEAN. The launch event for the website, www.southasiaforesight.net, was held on 22 May 2025 at the Nation-Building International Institute (NBII) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event was opened by Professor Kriengsak Chareonwongsak, founder of NBII, and Asanga Abeyagoonasekera, Executive Director of SAFN. The platform aims to support regional cooperation on futures thinking, scenario development, and long-term strategic planning by providing a dedicated space for scholars, policy professionals, and civil society actors.

Participating virtually from Washington, D.C., Jerome C. Glenn, co-founder and CEO of The Millennium Project, delivered opening remarks highlighting the relevance of regional foresight efforts amid global geopolitical uncertainty. He stressed the importance of building synergetic relationships in fragile regions such as South Asia.
