A new video on Global Challenge 10: How can shared values and new security strategies reduce ethnic conflicts, terrorism, and the use of weapons of mass destruction? has been released as part of The Millennium Project’s series on the 15 Global Challenges included in the recent State of the Future 20.0 publication, courtesy of the France Node.
The video on Global Challenge 10 discusses Despite nuclear threats, global peace prevails, with no major wars since World War II, except Ukraine. Conflicts now include transnational terrorism and cyber warfare, displacing 110 million people, mainly from Syria, Ukraine, and Afghanistan. Global military spending has reached $2.44 trillion, and food insecurity has worsened, particularly in Africa. To prevent further conflicts, nations must focus on cooperation, equitable governance, and inclusive dialogue.
We will release a video on the 15 global challenges every Monday as a premiere on our YouTube channel ! Join the conversation as we explore how to turn around these trends and secure a sustainable future for all.
