New Online Postgraduate Diploma on Strategic Foresight and International Relations

Héctor Casanueva, Chair of the Chile Node of The Millennium Project, is organizing a new online post graduation diploma course on “Nuevo escenario global, prospectiva estratégica y relaciones internacionales” at the Instituto de Estudios Internacionales.

The course, taking place from July 15 to October 30, 2025 and organized by the University of Chile in collaboration with the Consejo Chileno de Prospectiva y Estrategia, The Millennium Project, and the University of Alcalá, Instituto Universitario de Análisis Económico y Social (IAES), seeks to integrate two key disciplinary and professional fields to understand and act in 21st century globalization: international relations and strategic foresight.

The course aims to:

• Examine the multilateral system’s capacity to respond to the strategic and existential challenges of the 21st century, as well as to leverage the opportunities arising from new globalization and technological transformation.
• Provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals, methodologies, and applications of Strategic Foresight, while familiarizing participants with a set of methodologies applicable to international relations, the international system, and the construction of future scenarios.
• Explore megatrends and the new globalization in its various dimensions and spheres, analyzing their political, economic, social, and cultural impacts.

Besides Héctor Casanueva, others from The Millennium Project will join the teaching body, including Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director and Spain Node Chair, Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez, Argentina Node Co-Chair, Javier Vitale, Mendoza Sub-Node Co-Chair, and Guillermo Gándara, RIBER Chair.
