The Center for Foresight Studies of Cuyo (Argentina), hosting the Mendoza Sub-node of The Millennium Project, and the Chilean Foresight Center announced the release of the collective volume “Ecosistema prospectivo para la gobernanza anticipatoria,” a major step forward in institutionalizing anticipatory governance across Latin America.
Edited by Paola Aceituno O. and Javier Vitale, co-chair of the Mendoza Sub-node, the book is the result of the 2024 Annual Conference Program (PAC). This interinstitutional and intergenerational initiative brought together thought leaders from Latin America and Europe to rethink governance through the lens of the future.
Notably, the volume features a contribution from Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director of The Millennium Project and Chair of its Spain Node. Contributors also include leading foresight experts such as Catarina Zuzarte Tully (SOIF), Javier Medina Vásquez (CEPAL), Sergio Bitar (Chilean Foresight Council), and Rafael Popper (Futures Diamond), among others.
Key topics explored in the book include The creation and strengthening of parliamentary Future Commissions, The strategic role of youth in foresight initiatives, Institutionalization of foresight capacities in ministries, subnational governments, and multilateral organizations, and The interlinkages between foresight, public policy, citizen participation, and sustainable development.
The book is available for free in digital format.
