The ChosunIbo (leading newspaper company) brought me to Seoul to address the Asian Leadership Conference and their Centennial Committee to speak about future media issues such as “Conscious-Technology” and disinformation (as some of you may know, I wrote about information warfare 30 years ago in the book Future Mind). Youngsook Park, Chair of the Korean Node and News1 asked me to stay on to address the Korea Future Forum on the “Digital Transformation to the Conscious-Technology Civilization and the Self-Actualization Economy.”
Youngsook and I met with the head of the President of the National Assembly’s Future Institute to discuss implications of the Work/Tech study, possible Korea SOFI, and general collaboration with this new, one-year old institute. I also met with the President of the Asia Future Institute to explore funding for an Asian State of the Future Index.
Youngsook and I also lead a workshop for the Korean Node on conducing Futures Wheels on three trends, then Cross-Impacting the results, and discussed constructing scenarios vs. alternative views of future conditions. We then recorded a video launch of the Korean translation of the Work/Technology 2050 report for Youngsook’s Internet Future TV channel. The week ended with the Korean section of an international organization of Christian university clubs to review actions they could implement on addressing global warming.
