IEEE Sensors conference brought me to Montreal at the request of Bruce Hecht, Staff Engineer of Analog Devices (Boston) to speak on a panel about the future of sensors and artificial intelligence. In addition to conscious-technology as a possible post-information age possibility, I talked about the need to study potential global governance systems for the transition from artificial narrow intelligence to artificial general intelligence: https://www.slideshare.net/JeromeGlenn/governance-of-the-transition-from-artificial-narrow-intelligence-to-artificial-general-intelligence.
While in Montreal I had an excellent meeting with Eric Noel of Canada 2030 from Montreal to explore his becoming Co-chair of the Canadian Node with Karl Schroeder of Toronto. Looks like this will work out well, but we still need a presence in Ottawa.
