Mini Trip Report: Islamabad, Pakistan
Puruesh Chaudhary and Shahid Mahmud co-chairs of The Millennium Project Pakistan Node put together an outstanding set of events 13-16 March and produced 7.5 min video documentary on the visit.
Leaders in Islamabad: Business Summit brought me to Islamabad to keynote their conference with government and business leaders. I spoke about the global situation and prospects for the future with special attention to NT (next technologies), work, and the self-actualization economy.
While there I also gave some other talks and media interviews. At the National University of Modern Languages I spoke about The Millennium Project and the Pakistan State of the Future Index (which has more departments than that, but they never got around the changing the name) and presented the Pakistan State of the Future report to the Rector of the University.
At the opening ceremony of the Singularity University Hub in Islamabad lead by Puruesh and Shahid (who has just made a Trustee of the Eisenhower Fellows organization) I spoke about the State of the Future 19.1 and the coming Conscious-Technology Civilization. Puruesh and Shahid are developing a very nice synergy among MP, Singularity, and the Eisenhower Fellows.
We then met with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister who was just appointed to be next Pakistan Ambassador to the United States – we spoke about the PK-SOFI, a national future work/tech workshop, use of RTDelphi for quick assessments for the Prime Minister, and that we are available help the foresight functions of the country. It was also a special treat to see a former MP Intern from 20 years ago who now is running a very successful consultancy. All in all, a very good visit and I look forward to great things from the MP Pakistan Node.
