Mini Trip report: Astana, Kazakhstan

This was a quick two-day visit to Astana, Kazakhstan to speak on panel at the Astana Economic Forum about future of the world economy. Some of the others on the seven-person panel were Juha Kaskinen (rotating chair of The Millennium Project Node in Finland), John Naisbitt (futurist author), Richard Dobbs, Head of the McKinsey Global Institute, Kristel Van der Elst, Founder of the Global Foresight Group, the World Economic Forum. The Forum attracted about 3000 people, highlighted future potentials of Kazakhstan (the 9th largest country in the world) and its plans to become a member of OECD. A representative of the Prime Minister expressed interest in having Kazakhstan participate in the further development of the Global Futures System.
