On October 29, 2024, The Millennium Project officially launched its new node in Lithuania with an online event that featured notable participants, including Dr. Erika Vaiginiene, Associate Professor at Vilnius University, and Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director and Chair of the Spain Node.
The Lithuania Node is hosted by Vilnius University and aims to focus on foresight and strategic planning. The Node is chaired by Dr. Erika Vaiginiene, who is dedicated to advancing research and discussions in these crucial areas (Download presentation). During the launch, Ibon Zugasti gave a keynote speech on The Millennium Project (Download presentation).
The Lithuania Node comprises members from various sectors, including government strategic analysis, higher education, innovation, and parliamentary representation. This diverse group brings together expertise in strategic planning, technology, and futures studies, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to advance foresight initiatives in the region.
The next step for the Lithuania Node will be inviting additional members from international organizations, NGOs, and media personalities who possess a futures-oriented mindset. The Node also plans to hold a meeting in December to discuss its mission and activities, which will help align goals and strategies. It also aims to enhance visibility through various channels, including media outreach, an online presence, and a platform for sharing insights and resources.
