Jerome Glenn, Executive Director of the Millennium Project, was recently featured in an in-depth interview on Global Connections Television (GCTV), hosted by Bill Miller on May 30, 2025 GCTV is a unique platform that regularly features thought leaders from the United Nations, academia, civil society, and the private sector to explore pressing global issues.
In the interview, Glenn highlighted the release of the “State of the Future 20.0”, the most comprehensive edition to date of the Millennium Project’s flagship report. This annual publication analyzes 15 Global Challenges—ranging from climate change and clean energy to education, gender equality, ethics, crime, and global economic systems.
A central theme of the discussion was the urgent need to address the transition to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), which Glenn described as “the most difficult management problem humanity has ever faced.” The report serves as a strategic tool for the UN Council of Presidents of the General Assembly, helping guide the 193 UN Member States in defining their collective role in governing this transformative technology. Glenn also emphasized the need for new models of global collective intelligence and cooperation to tackle zero-sum geopolitics, resource management, and societal resilience in the face of accelerating change.
