Internships Available at The Millennium Project
Are you passionate about shaping the future? The Millennium Project offers internship program offers unique opportunities for individuals eager to make a meaningful impact on global futures research. Internships can range from several months to a year, and are available as either full-time or part-time roles (minimum 20 hours per week).
Internships can be conducted:
- In-person at our Washington, DC office or at one of our global Nodes.
- As a tele-internship, where you work remotely and collaborate online.

What Interns Do
Interns at The Millennium Project engage in a variety of tasks, gaining hands-on experience in futures research and global policymaking. Areas of work include:
1. Contributing to the 15 Global Challenges
- Updating and enhancing briefing situation charts.
- Analyzing text and future implications of current events.
- Identifying resources such as books, models, websites, and videos.
- Collaborating with leading experts.
2. Public Relations and Communications
- Developing strategies to connect people, ideas, and resources for better decision-making.
3. Futures Research Projects
- Supporting ongoing research on topics like:
- AI governance.
- Information warfare countermeasures.
- Future work and technology strategies.
- Environmental security.
- Global scenarios.
- Identifying leading minds in various fields.
4. Methodological Contributions
- Updating the Futures Research Methodology series.
5. General Support
- Assisting the CEO with tasks like:
- Creating and improving PowerPoint graphics.
- Monitoring project listservs.
- Data entry and proofreading.
- Reviewing software for potential project applications.
Internship Locations
- Washington, DC Office: Interns work directly with the central team.
- Node Offices Worldwide: Contact the Node Chair directly if interested in interning at a specific location. You must be fluent in the Node’s local language.
- Tele-Internships: Work remotely from your own location, staying in touch via the Internet.

- Unpaid Opportunity: While the internship is unpaid, most interns:
