Innovations for the Future and MP Planning Committee Meeting – Sept. 25-27, 2024

As part of The Millennium Project Annual Meeting,, an Innovation District Gathering will take place on September 25th, 2024, at Tecnológico de Monterrey, hosting the Mexico Node of The Millennium Project organizing the gathering. This event is a key opportunity to engage with futurists and innovators around the world as they explore the future of innovation and design.
Jerome Glenn, CEO and Co-founder of The Millennium Project, will give a keynote speech on “Major Innovations Needed for the Future”, introducing the State of The Future 20.0, recently published by The Millennium Project, among other topics and providing critical insights into global trends and opportunities that will shape the future.
The gathering will then feature a panel titled “El Diseño Que Viene”, with leading thinkers such as Concepción Olavarrieta, a prominent figure in futures studies focused on public policy foresight and Chair of the Mexico Node, Stuart Candy, a renowned futurist and designer specializing in experiential futures, and Jerome Glenn itself. Moderating the panel will be Roberto Iñiguez, EAAD National Dean at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

In addition, the “Parliamentary Futures” panel will be held, featuring Sirkka Heinonen, Co-Chair of the Helsinki Node of The Millennium Project. The event will conclude with dinner, cocktails, and networking.
On September 26th and 27th, the Planning Committee meetings of The Millennium Project will follow at Tecnológico de Monterrey. During these two days, the Chairs of The Millennium Project will review recent accomplishments and discuss key projects such as the State of the Future 20.0, Futures Research Methodology 4.0, the AGI Governance reporting and its third ongoing phase, as well as the State of the Future Index, World Futures Day, and the UN Summit for the Future. The meetings will also provide a platform to showcase recent initiatives by the regional Networks and Nodes of The Millennium Project, and to discuss the next priorities for The Millennium Project and other strategic activities through discussion groups and final comments.
On September 24-25, RIBER will also host an in person meeting in Monterrey. As part of RIBER’s agenda, there will be a leadership transition where Dr. Guillermo Gándara, former director of the Master’s in Strategic Foresight at Tecnológico de Monterrey, will be named the new president.
