Ibon Zugasti and Héctor Casanueva Represent The Millennium Project at ASETT Forum Session on International Year of Cooperatives 2025

On May 27, 2025, Ibon Zugasti, Deputy Director of The Millennium Project and Chair of its Spain Node, participated in a high-level session at the ASETT Forum, held at MONDRAGON Corporation’s Otalora headquarters. On May 28, 2025, Héctor Casanueva, Chile Node Chair of The Millennium Project and member of the ASETT International Advisory Board, will join another high level session at the ASETT Forum together with Ibon Zugasti. The sessions, organized in collaboration with the United Nations, are dedicated to the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 (IYC2025).

The event is bringing together leaders from cooperatives, international organizations, and academia to discuss the pivotal role of cooperatives in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Discussions focused on fostering global dialogue, sharing best practices, and developing recommendations for the upcoming report by the UN Secretary-General.

The ASETT Forum, an initiative launched in 2024 to promote the social economy, aims to connect stakeholders worldwide to reduce inequalities and promote inclusive growth. The forum’s sessions are part of a broader effort to highlight the contributions of cooperatives to sustainable development.
