“Futuros México hacia 2050” (Futures Mexico towards 2050) is a new study by Guillermo Gándara, Jorge Máttar, and Concepción Olavarrieta (MP Vice-Chair and MP Mexico Node Chair).

The publication has the purpose of promoting thinking about the possible horizons that Mexico could face, to give guidance from the present for the construction of more promising futures.
The challenges addressed by this comprehensive work are related to sustainable development, climate change and national security, clean water for all, population and resources, democracy in Mexico, long-term mexican policies, convergence of information and communication technologies, rich-poor gap, health for Mexico 2050, Mexican education in 2050, peace and conflict in Mexico, gender equality perspective, and transnational organized crime, five energy challenges for Mexico by 2050, scientific, technological and social innovation, and public ethics.

The work presents 3 possible scenarios for Mexico 2050, such as:

  • “Futuros Mexico. The Eternal Promise”
  • “Agony and desolation. Mutilated, Unpunished and atrocious Mexico”
  • “National Fullness. Democratic Mexico, Fair and In Peace”.

“Jerome C. Glenn, the Millennium Project President and Co-Founder

The 15 Global Challenges provide a framework for understanding and exploring global change. In Futuros México by 2050 this process is carried out. Congratulations! A monumental job!

David Garza Salazar, Rector of the Tecnológico de Monterrey

Futures Mexico towards 2050 invites us to look towards the future in an informed, responsible and conscious way. An unmissable reading whose reflections confirm that, as Alan Kay points out, the way to predict the future is to invent it yourself.

Rebecca Grynspan, Ibero-American General Secretary

With a lucid and diverse look, this magnificent book is a treasure trove of visions and reflections on the challenges that Mexico (and Latin America) will face in the next 30 years. Its highly recommended reading is a cure to avoid myopia

Riel Miller, Head of Futures Literacy at UNESCO

Enriching the sources of inspiration to imagine the future is one of the central challenges of our time. Futures Mexico towards 2050 offers a rich catalog of images of the future. Stimulate your imagination, read this book!

Julio Millán, President of the World Future Society Mexico Chapter

In times of transit towards a new dimension of humanity, Futuros México by 2050 becomes a necessary and indispensable tool to build a desirable and consistent future. It is a means for achieving balance and happiness in people who read it.

JAntonio Muñoz Santiago, President of Fundación Biósfera de Álica, A.C.

Mexico Futures towards 2050 is an ambitious work, based on the natural and human potentialities of our country, with an eye on the future, carried out with professionalism, deep knowledge and enviable clarity, which will drive us to build a more prosperous, fairer, and kinder society.
