Futures Week is a free annual virtual conference organised by Policy Horizons Canada to explore the future. Attendees are invited to examine emerging issues, opportunities and challenges we might face, and how foresight can drive transformation.
Futures Week 2023 will take place on May 16-18, 2023 and consist of sessions that explore topics such as disruptions on the horizon, existential risks, the future of space, geotechnomics, basic needs at risk, and much more.
Among the invited speakers, Rosa Alegria, Chair of the Brazil Node of The Millennium Project, will be joining the Existential risks session on “Exploring threats to humanity: what is an existential risk and why is it important to be aware of them”, May 17.
The Millennium Project has been working on Existential Risks for a while now and proposed that the UN General
Assembly discusses and adopts a Resolution that would give the General Secretariat the mandate to assess the feasibility of a UN Office of Strategic Threats.
