The Helsinki Node of The Millennium Project, in collaboration with the Finnish Society for Futures Studies, has announced a Call for Chapters for the second volume in the series Our World of Futures Studies as a Mosaic.
Following the success of the first volume published in 2024 where many chairs of The Millennium Project contributed, Part 2 continues to explore the diversity and richness of global futures studies through a collection of scholarly contributions reflecting different cultural, methodological, and regional perspectives. The series is curated by editors Tero Villman, Sirkka Heinonen, Helsinki Node Co-Chair and recently elected member of the Millennium Project Board of Directors, and Hazel Salminen and is part of the Futures Series by the Finnish Society for Futures Studies.
The publication seeks to deepen mutual understanding within the global foresight community by showcasing a wide variety of traditions, practices, and emerging ideas. Each chapter will serve as a unique tile in the broader mosaic, highlighting how localized experiences and theoretical frameworks contribute to the evolving landscape of futures thinking.
Authors are invited to submit abstracts by 15 September 2025 via the submission form. Contributions may take the form of peer-reviewed articles, non-peer-reviewed articles, reviews. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full manuscripts by 15 January 2026. A collaborative kick-off session will be held on 25 September 2025, fostering dialogue and connection among contributors. The final volume is scheduled for publication in summer 2026 and will be available as an open-access digital edition.
