A new “In Focus” episodes by the Futures Television, a media project in partnership with the World Futures Studies Federation, is now available. Presented by Rom Gayoso and hosting Jerome C. Glenn, the episode is focused on the “Work/Tech 2050. Scenarios and Actions” study by The Millennium Project,
The conversation discusses some of the main possibilities contained in the study, taking inspirations from its 3 scenarios and from the many actions the report contains to understand the evolution of Artificial Narrow Intelligence to General Intelligence and so forth and why we must get the initial conditions right now.
Among other things, Jerome Glenn also introduces the potential impacts of synthetic biology to create new capabilities and agricultural practices and the importance of having cash flow projections now for sustaining a universal basic income.
“One of the great important challenges for us today is to collaborate globally on what the initial conditions of Artificial General Intelligence should be, what the treaty should say for all countries to play, and what should the enforcement system be”.
Jerome C. Glenn
