“Futuros México hacia 2050” (Futures Mexico towards 2050) is a new study by Guillermo Gándara, Jorge Máttar, and Concepción Olavarrieta (MP Vice-Chair and MP Mexico Node Chair).
The publication has the purpose of promoting thinking about the possible horizons that Mexico could face, to give guidance from the present for the construction of more promising futures.
The challenges addressed by this comprehensive work are related to sustainable development, climate change and national security, clean water for all, population and resources, democracy in Mexico, long-term mexican policies, convergence of information and communication technologies, rich-poor gap, health for Mexico 2050, Mexican education in 2050, peace and conflict in Mexico, gender equality perspective, and transnational organized crime, five energy challenges for Mexico by 2050, scientific, technological and social innovation, and public ethics.
The work presents 3 possible scenarios for Mexico 2050, such as:
- “Futuros Mexico. The Eternal Promise”
- “Agony and desolation. Mutilated, Unpunished and atrocious Mexico”
- “National Fullness. Democratic Mexico, Fair and In Peace”.
