Mini Trip Report: Paris

En route to Milan, I stopped for two days in Paris…beginning with Riel Miller at UNESCO who would like to collaborate with The Millennium Project to identify potential UNESCO futures studies chairs with university affiliations, who would be invited to a conference at UNESCO during 2018 to help document the academic field of futures studies. Then on to lunch hosted by Fabrice Roubelat, Assoc. Prof., Maître de conférences HDR and editor of the Revue Prospective et Stratégie who will be writing a review of the State of the Future 19.1. Saphia Richou, Chair of the French Node of MP joined us is developing MBA foresight course using the 15 Global Challenges and the Global Futures Intelligence System. Saphia and I continued discussions at her university (ESCE).

The next day began with Vincent Champain former deputy ministry of foresight for a previous French government and now director of GE Digital Europe that introduces AI to production processes and monitors in real-time their clients’ processes to improve efficiencies and documents the amount of money GE saves their clients. I gave a little talk to their staff to introduce the State of the Future 19.1. Then on to OECD to meet with Duncan Cass-Beggs, their new Councilor for Strategic Foresight about collaboration on future work/tech scenarios, government future strategy units, global counter organized crime strategies, and how to help coordinate the variety of foresight teams and strategies that will help get humanity through the transitions of the 21st century.
