A new video on Global Challenge 8: How can the threat of new and reemerging diseases and immune microorganisms be reduced? has been released as part of The Millennium Project’s series on the 15 Global Challenges included in the recent State of the Future 20.0 publication, courtesy of the France Node.

The video on Global Challenge 8 covers global health progress and challenges, from COVID-19’s impact on life expectancy to the rise in pandemic preparedness and medical advancements like mRNA vaccines and AI-driven drug development. However, challenges remain, including rising antimicrobial resistance, unequal access to healthcare, and health risks from climate change. Despite increased health spending, disparities persist, with WHO warning of a significant health worker shortage by 2030.
