A new video on Global Challenge 7: How can ethical market economies be encouraged to reduce the gap between rich and poor? has been released as part of The Millennium Project’s series on the 15 Global Challenges included in the recent State of the Future 20.0 publication, courtesy of the France Node.

The video on Global Challenge 7 examines global poverty reduction alongside growing income inequality, accelerated by COVID-19’s impact on developing economies. While poverty has declined, disparities persist, especially in Africa, with technology’s rapid advance posing risks for future employment. Efforts like universal basic income trials, AI-driven cost reduction, and global tax reforms aim to address these challenges, as new progress indicators emerge to support more inclusive and sustainable economic strategies.
