On January 30-31, 2025, a Preparatory Seminar for the VI Academic Summit Latin America and the Caribbean-European Union (LAC-EU), hosted by Universidad Nacional Costa Rica (UNA) and the Permanent Academic Forum LAC-EU (FAP LAC-EU) in San José, will take place to advance the creation of a Euro-Latin American and Caribbean common space for higher education, science, technology, and innovation.

This event follows up on the recent declaration to cooperate for the creation of the Common Space of Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation and an Agreement for the Academic Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean with the European Union (LAC-EU), signed in September in Monterrey by The Millennium Project, RIBER, EU-LAC Academic Forum, and TEC Monterrey.

The academic community from Latin America, the Caribbean, and the European Union is invited to participate in discussions analyzing the current status and future directions in these fields, leading up to the VI Academic Summit 2025 and the IV CELAC-EU Summit.

This event is held in collaboration with various organizations, including the OEI, EU-LAC Foundation, and others. Participation is free for university authorities, academics, researchers, and postgraduate students.
