Tero Villman, Sirkka Heinonen, Helsinki Node Co-Chair, and Laura Pouru-Mikkola will introduce a new publication called “Our World of Futures Studies as a Mosaic” on June 13, 2024, 3,00-4,30 pm, within the framework of the 24th international Futures Conference on the “Future of Natural Resources” organized by the Finland Futures Research Centre and the Finland Futures Academy, University of Turku, Finland, hosting the Helsinki Node of The Millennium Project. published within the Futures Series by the Finnish Society for Futures Studies and available in June.

Among the distinguished authors, many from The Millennium Project contributed to this volume. Sirkka Heinonen and Laura Pouru-Miccola introduce the volume with a chapter on “Brief history of estabilishing the Futures field in Finland“. Sirkka Heinonen and Sofi Kurki also illustrate the “Perspectives of French Futures Studies as opened up by key experts“. Jerome Glenn, Executive Director, and Mara Di Berardo, Comms Director & Italy Node Co-Chair, contributed with a paper on “The Millennium Project: a global participatory think tank to accumulate wisdom for the future“. Mara Di Berardo, Comms Director & Italy Node Co-Chair, together with Carolina Facioni and Roberto Paura, also wrote a paper on “Futures Studies in Italy: organizations, approaches, and objectives. An exploratory assessment“. Nicolas Balcom Raleigh, Foresight Europe Network President, together with Laura Pouru-Mikkola and Markku Wilenius, illustrate how “UNESCO Global Futures Literacy Network develops capabilities to engage all forms of anticipation“. Fredy Vargas Lama, Colombia Node Co-Chair toghether with Luz Martha Melo Rodrigues, contributed with a chapter on “Governments and The State of Long-Term Thinking in Latin American”.
