Within the framework of the 4th International Conference on “Data Science & Social Research – DSSR 2024″ taking place in Naples, March 25-27, 2024, Simone Di Zio, Co-Chair of the Italy Node of The Millennium Project, organizes a round table on “Futures Studies and Statistics: a possible and desirable marriage” moderated by Roberto Paura.
Speakers for the round table will be Simone Di Zio and Mario Bolzan, Italy Node of The Millennium Project, Enrico Giovannini, Former Minister of Labor and Social Policies of the Italian Republic, and Gabriele Rizzo, Leading Foresight and groundbreaking Innovation for the U.S. Space Force.
The panel will discuss statistical contributions to consolidate futures studies and foresight and, vice versa, i.e. how futures studies can help statistics. Notes on risk and uncertainty will be also given, trying to understand how statistics can help when uncertainty is involved.
The round table will take place on March 25 from 4,30 pm CET to 5,30 pm CET, with the support of the Italy Node partner Italian Institute for the Future. The conference is organized by the Department of Social Sciences (DISS) and Department of Economics and Statistics (DISES) of the University of Naples Federico II.
