The Department of Sociology and Social Sciences of the University of Trento organizes, under the patronage of the UNESCO Chair in Anticipatory Systems, the international conference on “The Discovery of the Future in the Social and Human Sciences: Changing science from a primarily past-oriented effort to a primarily future-oriented effort”, 6-8 June 2024.

Among the confirmed plenary speakers of the event, Adrian Pop, Co-Chair of the Romania Node of the Millennium Project, and Geci -Karuri Sebina, Co-Chair of the Southern Africa Node of The Millennium Project. Other Chairs of The Millennium Project will also attend. The complete list of speakers will be available soon.

Among the pre-activities to the event, Adrian Pop, will hold a seminar on “The Interplay between International Relations and Futures Studies in the Complexity Context” at the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Trento on September 28, 2023, organized by the Research Unit on Futures Literacy and Anticipation Theory at the University of Trento.

Researchers and professionals from universities, research institutes, companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations can submit their abstracts up till November 30, 2023.
