Greece Node

The “MillenniumProject” Greek node’s main goal is to help in the modernization process of Southeastern Europe, by giving special emphasis on the implementation of the "science" of future studies through direct diffusion of the results to organizations, businesses and other stakeholders. 

The mission of the “MillenniumProject” Greek node is to: [a] promote an open dialogue between countries; [b] contribute to the sustainable development of the sub-region; and [c] support the integration of these countries to the European Union.

The Greek node was set up in November 2010. Members of the node are Universities, SME’s, NGO’s, state organisations, experts and the UNDP/BRC Regional Centre for PAR (RCPAR). The Greek node is located in Thessaloniki. Currently, its HQs are located in Emetris SA offices, in the Thessaloniki Innovation Zone.

What are the “Millennium Project” Greek Node’s challenges?

The challenges facing the Node is - through conducting studies and research projects - to assist in the stabilization of the neighboring countries’ economies, and to exchange useful material for this purpose. The countries of South Eastern Europe, in view of the increasing globalization, should be enabled to identify and exploit new opportunities in ways which are congruent with their nature and culture. Responses of the countries to new challenges will be enhanced by gaining access to high quality analysis and studies attempting to frame existing problems and needs in a detailed scientific framework.

What is the scope of the “Millennium Project” Greek Node?

Millennium - Project Greek node will focus its efforts on specific problems and challenges, faced by the South Eastern Europe countries and the sub-region.
Initially research will focus on:

• Economic and Policy Research (Transition Economies - Privatization)
• Social Science Research
• Research Infrastructure and Urban Development, including urban mobility
• Services for Citizens (e-Europe)
• Supply Chain Management & Logistics
• Road Safety
• Information Technology Infrastructure & Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
